Belbin Team Role Profiling

BelbinAs the creator of Team Role Theory, Dr Meredith Belbin defines team roles as ‘a tendency to behave, contribute and interrelate with others in a particular way.’

Belbin identified nine key clusters of behaviour, each of which makes an important contribution to a team’s capabilities. These nine roles each have particular strengths, as well as allowable weaknesses. Belbin Team Role Profiling allows you to see how those roles are fulfilled within a team.

A team role profile can allow you to see what your primary role is within a team, as well as giving you a better understanding of other team members’ roles. It is useful for:

  • Understanding your strengths within a team1290197_white_flowers_against_blue_sky
  • Understanding individual differences
  • Creating a high performing team
  • Achieving your full potential
  • Managing time and resources

Both individual and team reports are available. For 16 to 23 year olds, the Belbin Get Set Reports are also available, which help younger people to better understand their team roles. Designed to make the questionnaire more accessible to the younger age group, the Get Set Reports help young people to progress from education into the workplace, focusing on their strengths.
